On Saturday, we hosted a Very Harry Potter Halloween dinner party. I went as Bellatrix and Mr. F was Lucius Malfoy! We had so much fun with our costumes. To keep with the Harry Potter theme, we had a Deathly Hallows Pumpkin Pie. We both found it hard to look evil all the time, like our characters. This is our attempt to look serious and not smile at the camera. Our friends dressed up as Harry Potter characters too. We had a Draco Malfoy, two Harry Potters and Hermione too. After dinner, we took a taxi up to Lakeview and enjoyed a few costume contests and dancing at Cody's Public House and the Liar's Club!
It was a wonderful Halloween weekend!
It's that time of year and I've held off longer than usual, so please make a Mammogram Promise!
You don't have to be a woman to promise. All you have to do is click the button that says I Promise to spread the life-saving word about mammography. When you do promise, you'll be entered to win amazing prizes (e.g., gift certificates for dinner at fancy restaurants, buckets of chocolate, theater tickets, and more) every day throughout October. If you don't want to do it for your health, then do it for the chocolate!

I can't believe this week has gone from a low of 39 degrees, mixed with 60 mph winds, flooding from25 feet foot waves on Lake Michigan, to a gorgeous and sunny Friday, Saturday, Sunday up to 70 degrees!Mr. F and I had a wonderful run through Lincoln Park today. The fall colors look lovely!
A friend at work mentioned today that she loves Jazz. She said Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald are some of her favorites. Thus, I've decided to make another mixed CD for my work pals!
I'm including Mr. F's and my first dance song from our wedding, A Kiss to Build A Dream On! My Dad and I danced to Unforgettable for the Father/Daughter dance. When I first met Mr. F, he used to listen to Hello Dolly and the Hot Fives and Sevens albums frequently. Recently, he's been listening to Cookin' with the Miles Davis Quintet.
I also included Rosemary Clooney's It's De-Lovely. My best friend from college had this as her first dance song at her wedding!
Here's a list of my favorite Jazz songs on my most recent mixed CD!
