Today, we had the pleasure of going to the Chicago Botanic Garden with our good friends and their family! We drove to the adorable suburb of Glencoe, 30 minutes North of Chicago. (Scenes from "Risky Business", "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", and "Sixteen Candles" were filmed in Glencoe. The Glencoe train station was featured in Clint Eastwood's "Flags of Our Fathers" and John Hughes' "She's Having a Baby". "Mean Girls" also references Glencoe!)
huge swans, the English Walled Garden, the Japanese gardens, the amazing bridges of Evening Island, and the Enabling Garden! We had so much fun with my cousin! The weather was sublime, sunny, 60s with a side of wonderful wind.
We also saw funny shaped pumpkins and gourds, many monarch butterflies, and beautiful fall colors.I love fall in Chicago!
