Pink Clouds

There are pink clouds on the horizon tonight, it makes me think of the saying, "red at night, sailor's delight...red in the morning, sailors take warning"! According to meterologists, this actually means: "When we see a red sky at night, this means that the setting sun is sending its light through a high concentration of dust particles. This usually indicates high pressure and stable air coming in from the west. Basically good weather will follow.

I found this neat painting titled, "Sailor's Delight" online by Angela Vandenbogaard. I love how the colors are so simple yet striking.

The previous painting is also titled, "Pink Clouds" from the Sea Garden series by Sophie Abbott. She has really explosive and thrilling abstract paintings on her website, www.sophieabbott.net.
