the BHLDN Chicago store opening was amazing!

My cousin and I went to the BHLDN store opening on my birthday, Monday! I was in constant awe the whole time. It felt like being a little girl going to a princess store. You were surrounded by tulle, silk and beautiful gowns, the second you stepped into the store. We saw dresses with blue sashes, fancy tutus, beautiful trains,  and fantastic shoes. The opening was hosted by Martha Stewart Weddings and the Editorial Director, Darcy Miller Nussbaum, was even there!  We got the most recent issue of Martha Stewart Weddings as a party favor, too! I couldn't stop taking pictures of all the intricate details and breathtaking fabrics.

Each dress looked completely different in person, and the material was much more interesting than it looks online. (for example)

I saw lots of cute tea length dresses that would look wonderful on my sister-in-law.

I loved the beading on the Tulle Era dress.

It's a good thing this store didn't exist when I got married!

BHLDN even has delicate and intricate jewelry.

There were so many people at the opening that we were not able to try dresses on but we're planning on going back soon. I love weddings and it's so fun to play dress up!

It's my 29th birthday!!

Today is awesome. Mr. F made me scrambled eggs with cheese curds and bacon this morning. I also got a quick work out in, before work! When I arrived at work, my co-workers had decorated my cubicle and brought me Valentine's dishes, wine, Glee magnets, and jewelry. And around 9am, flowers arrived from my best friend, Andy Mac! They smell amazing too!

After work today, my best Chicago pal, and I are going to the opening of the second BHLDN store in the country!! It looks like a gorgeous store in the Gold Coast. This is such a cool birthday present. We're so excited to drink champagne and try on dresses!

I remember when the first BHLDN store opened last year in Atlanta. All the bloggers that attended looked like they had a blast!

Later, we're meeting our boys for dinner around the corner from the new BHLDN at Le Colonial, a French-Vietnamese fusion restaurant!

I can't wait to celebrate tonight! I've already opened all my birthday presents to myself but I keep pinning more to my birthday wish list! http://pinterest.com/fettbot/my-christmas-list-birthday-list/

Dreaming of summer clothes...

Wouldn't it be nice if it were warmer? It snowed in Chicago this morning. It's April 18th. My friends say, "Welcome to the Midwest!"
If I was on a shopping spree, I'd love to buy these fun blue Ray Bans! A friend of mine wore a pair like this and they look so cool.
I also enjoy these Dorothy Gale blue gingham shorts and
the Delaney eyelet skirt from J.Crew.
Who doesn't want to look as relaxed and as happy as this sidewalk stroll scene from Anthropologie?
Spring is just around the corner, I'm sure. But for now, I'll stick to my layers, overcoats, scarves, and mittens!

Anthroholic fun and walking around downtown

Today, I went to the event, "An Anthroholic Afternoon at Anthropologie"! Mr. F and I had an enjoyable walk downtown with coffee to Anthropologie this morning. It was a blustery 40 degrees, so I bundled up. I love all the bridges over the Chicago River, and can't help taking so many pictures every time we passed one!

We arrived at Anthropologie a little before 11am, so we walked around the block, before the event started.  I met Kim from the Anthroholic blog immediately! She's such a fun host. We had matching nail polish on too! She was wearing a lovely lavender color from Essie and I had a very similar one from China Glaze
There was an adorable display of sweet treats and cake set up for the Anthroholic event!
I met other fun Anthroholic blog followers too!
Kim from Anthroholic had a rack of her favorite Anthropologie items with cute comments on why she likes them.  I love this skirt and so does Kim. She writes, "It's bold but still sweet."
Also in attendance was Dea from the dea diaries, I just discovered her blog! This is Dea,Stephanie, Kim from Anthroholic, and me!

After a few hours at Anthropologie, I met Mr. F in Millennium Park.  It's spring time in Chicago! The magnolias and tulips were blooming.  It was a perfect day to take lots of pictures!
