Happy Halloween

On Saturday, we hosted a Very Harry Potter Halloween dinner party. I went as Bellatrix and Mr. F was Lucius Malfoy! We had so much fun with our costumes. To keep with the Harry Potter theme, we had a Deathly Hallows Pumpkin Pie. We both found it hard to look evil all the time, like our characters. This is our attempt to look serious and not smile at the camera. Our friends dressed up as Harry Potter characters too. We had a Draco Malfoy,  two Harry Potters and Hermione too. After dinner, we took a taxi up to Lakeview and enjoyed a few costume contests and dancing at Cody's Public House and the Liar's Club!
It was a wonderful Halloween weekend!

My friends are going to be Narcissa Malfoy and Draco, although they may end up being Hermione and Ron. Another friend is going to be Harry Potter!!!

I would love to find Harry Potter cupcakes in time for our dinner party, on Saturday! Mr. F thinks we should try making these same designs ourselves.

Halloween and winter is coming!

I'm still gathering items for my Halloween costume, Bellatrix Lestrange and Mr. F's Lucius Malfoy,

but I was amazed to hear Christmas music playing today!

Have you thought much past Halloween yet? It's hard to believe winter is coming! (Yes, I'm also reading Game of Thrones.)

Harry Potter facts

I've decided I'm watching all 7 Harry Potter movies before seeing the last one. It's also fun looking up trivia from IMDB.com! Here are some of my favorite facts.

Richard Harris only agreed to take the part of Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) after his then 11-year-old granddaughter threatened never to speak to him again if he didn't.

The last name Dumbledore means "Bumblebee" in Old English.

The Hogwarts motto, "Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus" means "never tickle a sleeping dragon".

Two Persian red cats were used for the role of Crookshanks: Crackerjack and Pumpkin.

The design of the large clock which functions as a visual motif in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban appears to be based on the Old Town Clock (also called the "Orloj" - pronounced "OR-LOY") in Prague, Czech Republic. The Orloj tells not only the time, but shows the month, the sign of the Zodiac, and shows the relative positions of the moon and sun.

In one of the first takes of Hermione's "Cinderella moment", Emma Watson actually tripped in that fancy dress and fell down the stairs.

The radish earrings worn by Luna Lovegood were actually made by Evanna Lynch (the actress portraying her).

Wow...I've watched all of the movies more than once... Check out more facts on zimbio.

Oh Harry Potter!

Are you going to see the last installment of Harry Potter, when it comes out on July 15th?

I won't see it opening weekend, but I plan on seeing it during the week after July 15th!

Pictures from my 28th birthday (11 days ago)

We had a lovely and fun brunch at Bastille in Ballard for my birthday two Sundays ago! I had a French 75 and the Croque Madame. It was divine.
Mr. F and I took out his new Christmas remote control helicopter to Discovery Park because it was sunny and not too windy.
We even took a few pictures on the Magnolia bluffs. I love this background.
For dinner we went to Pazzo's in Eastlake for birthday pizza!
My sister took us to the Harry Potter exhibit at the Pacific Science Center
It was the last night of the show!
I wish I could have taken pictures inside the exhibit. We loved seeing all the costumes and wands. Voldemort's wand was the best!

My Christmas Wish List Part One

The EmersonMade EM Pumpkin Patent Heels are adorable.
They also go perfectly with The Dandy Dress with the Navy Tiny Star pattern!
How cute and dorky is this t-shirt? It's called Real Men Don't Sparkle!
I would love to see this movie for Christmas. Tangled looks fun and fresh!
My favorite movie growing up was "Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken". I would love to own a copy!

What do you want for Christmas?
