Our lovely weekend before Christmas!

Mr. F and I had a wonderful time Friday night at our friend's pork party/dinner! The mini host, Finn, was super cute!
Saturday night, we went to a holiday party at my parents' neighbor's house. We brought adorable gingerbread cookies, to the house across the street from my parents' house.  My sister and I got tons of pictures together!

On Sunday, we took pictures with the kitties in front of our Christmas tree! It's a favorite holiday tradition!
It was sunny and beautiful today, so we took a walk around Shilshole Bay in the afternoon. I love these photos! It's only five more days until Christmas and 10 more days until we go on vacation!

A fun in the sun weekend!

We had a wonderful weekend with our good friend, Beav! Friday night, we had a divine dinner at the Metropolitan Grill. Yes, we had the best steak in town with the most spectacular four cheese macaroni and cheese! There was a Saturday night stroll in the Shilshole Bay Marina...to walk off our fabulous dinner from my favorite restaurant, La Isla. The sunset was beautiful! We had Sunday brunch at the new Walrus and the Carpenter...This is the La Tur cheese and Ballard Honey...simply delicious.Mr. F had the fancy poached peaches and cream. He and our friend had the pork crepinette with brioche, apricots and a poached egg too! After brunch we wandered through the Ballard Farmer's Market. And then, we went paddleboarding!! The boys decided they were more comfortable paddling from a lower stance.I really enjoyed the stabilizing/core muscle exercise and was able to stand for almost two hours!
If you're ever in Seattle, check out Surf Ballard.

It's our two year wedding anniversary!

Mr. F and I were married at the Shilshole Bay Beach Club in Seattle, two years ago. The wedding took place on the banks of the Puget Sound in Ballard. The sun was shining and the mountains were out in full glory. It was a beautiful day!  (Erin Schedler captured the day wonderfully too!) Happy anniversary to us! Everyone was smiling and full of cheer...The bridesmaids were lovely! The Cupcake Royale cupcakes were delicious. The sunset was phenomenal. The groomsmen were dashing! We had so much fun dancing and spending time with our friends!
Here's to many, many more years of happiness!

My Fair Lazy and Dreamy dress days

I enjoyed reading My Fair Lazy by Jen Lancaster, author of Bitter is the New Black this weekend. Mr. F and I did a bunch of chores and cleaned the house after a nice brunch at Macrina, on Sunday. (I had the amazing French Brioche Toast with Lavender whipped cream and strawberries. It was divine.) Here my weekend finds. These lovely pink and yellow vintage prom dresses were photographed by Mandy Lynne and featured on the Ruffled blog. The pink one reminds me of the dreamy dress from A Diary of Lovely

I love weddings. Here's a local Garden Gardens wedding with a beautiful slate blue wedding dress! Check out the bride's photography blog too!
I love this Principessa gown from J.Crew too. The name and style are so classic and dreamy. How was your weekend?

Sunny Saturday and Surf Ballard

Mr. F and I got up early today and went for a nice, long 6 mile walk along Alki in West Seattle. There was a great breeze and it felt warm, yet not over 75 degrees. I missed a spot along my tank top strap, when applying SPF 45 and got a mild sunburn. Apparently the Seafair pirates were also landing on Alki Beach today! We stayed away from the major crowds but it looked like a blast!  After a delicious sushi lunch at Chinoise, we met up with Nichole to go paddle boarding in Puget Sound. We rented boards and paddles from Surf Ballardand walked across to the street to Shilshole Bay Beach Club (coincidently where Mr. F and I got married!)
(The purple tables are where our reception took place August 2nd, 2008!)
We had so much fun.  The weather was perfect and the water wasn't as cold as we expected! We all remembered the infamous Friends episode of what to do when you get stung by a jellyfish. Fortunately, we just saw them from on top of our boards and no one touched them! And not to worry, we all had waterproof SPF 70 on!!

After a hardy workout, we came home and barbecued Ahi Tuna! We also had just a splash of Dusted Valley 2009 Rose.  It was divine!

Happy weekend, everyone!
