Ooo, la la...CMA Awards Fashion!

I didn't get a chance to watch the Country Music Awards last night but I'm catching up on the fantastic fashion on my day off.
Carrie Underwood, Laura Bell Bundy, and Julianne Hough do not disappoint. They all look stunning in their glamourous gowns.

Taylor Swift was ethereal and sweet in her performance of "Back to December". I love the strings and mist while she's singing and playing the piano.

Gwyneth Paltrow was pretty amazing singing "Country Strong" too!

Plus, she had an awesome looking guitar!

I think Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley are the cutest couple. It's adorable they met while filming his first music video.

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood were very fashionable award hosts too!
Yay for Sugarland winning vocal duo of the year! Jennifer Nettles has a superb voice and I love their newest single, "Stuck like glue"!

Happy Veteran's Day!

Happy weekend - food game!

Caitlin at Think Happy Thoughts tagged me in a little game about one of my favorite things.... FOOD. She was tagged previously by the Domestic Goddess!
1. What is your favorite dessert? This was a super difficult question to answer. I love all desserts. Cupcakes and cakes, in general, are my favorite!
2. Ever tried to cook something and fail miserably? I unfortunately burnt two pots, in a row, while steaming artichokes. Now, I leave most cooking (except baking) to my husband.

3. Is there a dish you haven't made yet but really want to? I would love to make more dishes out of the Pioneer Woman Cooks cookbook by Ree Drummond. She inspires me to blog and bake! I've made her Christmas Rum cake two years in a row at Christmas! The Pioneer Woman's cake is easy to make plus, it's super delicious. Here's a picture of one of her creationsThis one is mine!

4. What is your favorite food? Pastries! I love fluffy croissants with chocolate in the middle. I also think fresh danishes are divine! Crumbly bars and tarts are always my favorite too.  I think cinnamon balls count as pastries too.

5. What is your least favorite food? It used to be brussels sprouts but I'm starting to appreciate them when they're buttered and breaded!

6. Do you have any seasonal meals you like? Butternut squash is delectable in the fall! Christmas rum cake is delightful in December. Gelato is so tasty in the summer!

7. What is your comfort food? When I want a healthier comfort food option, my husband makes the most amazing butternut squash soup and butternut squash macaroni and cheese.
Unfortunately, I frequently turn to my co-worker's candy drawer at work!

8. Chocolate: milk, dark or white? I prefer milk chocolate with nuts. I recently discovered the Chocomize website. I love the white chocolate candy bar with almonds, coconut and marshmallows! Baci chocolates from Perugia, Italy are my absolute favorite chocolate!

Flight plans...check! Hotels...check! Rental car...check!

This time in two months we will be snorkeling in Maui! We still need to pick a few favorite restaurants in Lahaina, Hana and Napili. We may also want to plan on re-visiting our favorite snorkeling spots, like Ahihi Beach, South of Wailea.  Otherwise, all the major planning is done!  [sourceLast year, we stayed on Ka'anapali Beach, North of Lahaina. This year, we'll spend two nights in Lahaina, two nights in Hana, a night on Haleakala and the last two nights in Napili.
Last December, we found the most amazing breakfast place, called Gazebo in Napili. My favorite dish was the macadamia nut pancakes with coconut and banana syrup. This year we're staying at the Outrigger hotel, right next to the restaurant!
We haven't had a chance to see the sunrise on Haleakala yet. SO, this year, we're staying in Kula, halfway up the mountain. Hopefully this makes it easier to wake up before the crack of dawn!
I also hope we see more than whale tails this year!

Aloha,

Magnificent Michigan wedding by K.Holly photography!!

How cute is this couple?! I wish I had thought of this adorable photoshoot idea! K. Holly Photography is a mastermind. The couple didn't even see each other before the ceremony. K. Holly just put the photos together to look like it!
The succulent bouquets are luminous, simply stunning!
The display at table 8 is totally what I envisioned for our wedding! I hope one of my sisters gets married soon so we can implement some of these amazing design ideas into their wedding!!
Cheers,

P.S. What do you think of this dress by Elizabeth Dye?
I think Haven and the horses are perfectly captured here! I can see my sisters getting married on our family farm with a snapshot just like this Montana photo! If you're curious about Elizabeth Dye's dresses like I am, check out her Etsy shop for the English Department! The English Department also has a website and a brick-and-mortar shop in Portland, Oregon.

Beach time planning!

My sister is in the Philippines and my grandparents are in Honolulu, on their way to the Philippines, thus I cannot help thinking of sunny beaches. Our annual trip planning is in full swing! Any suggestions?
