I love my house!

Here are a few sunlit photos of my home in the afternoon! Seattle is beautiful today with bright blue skies and a few fluffy clouds.
Lily Thomas loves the sun too! Our mantle is pretty in the late afternoon sunlight too!

Country memories

When I was a child, I would escape chores to read in the tall grass at our farm. Sometimes I would build fairy huts in the grass, or wait quietly to spy on wild rabbits that would venture out of the blackberry bushes. When I saw this painting by Albrecht Durer, on my iGoogle art of the day homepage, it instantly transported me back to reading Little House on the Praire, Nancy Drew, and the Phillip Pullman books in the hay fields.

Do you have favorite pieces of art that remind you of a particular memory?

Are you ready for Glee?

Are you excited for Glee to return with the second half of their amazing first season? There's currently a free clip on iTunes of a brand new musical number, "Gives You Hell" by the All-American Rejects. I wasn't familiar with the song, but the sneak peak was very fun and worth checking out. (I tried to upload it but either iTunes or Blogger wouldn't let me.) I'm so excited for Glee to return day after tomorrow! It's on the FOX channel right after American Idol at 9:28pm. I'm practically counting the minutes to that strange time.

If you need a re-cap on the beginning of the season, here are a few fun links I found on YouTube.
There's a quick explanation and interview of the main characters.
Recap on my favorite episode, Hairography.
One of my favorite numbers, You Keep Me Hanging On.
Preview of the episodes to come.....

If you've seen the show, what are your favorite episodes? If you haven't seen the show, please watch the pilot, and tell me what you think. The first episode hooked me with its satirical and musical perspective of high school. It's appealing to just about anyone who went to high school.

Enjoy!

Have you seen How to Train Your Dragon?!

Wow, How to Train Your Dragon is a thrilling and wonderful movie. The story is fascinating, the graphics are fantastical, and the characters are so fun! I especially enjoyed Toothless, the night fury dragon. It reminds me of Foosa, our old kitten.  It was so feline and sweet, yet dangerous.  (source) It was my first 3D experience since I was a child too! I can't believe how cool the 3D glasses are now. I was so surprised when they were not paper with plastic red and blue lenses!   (source
I wonder if the children's book is as appealing to adults as the film. Check out IMDB for more amazing screen shots from the movie!

We trained our own dragon today by taking our long haired Maine Coon Mix kitty, Lyra, to the groomers. This is Lyra, this morning, before her haircut.
This is after we picked her up from Lookin' Good, the dog and cat grooming salon.

She's much happier and cooler, plus we won't have to vacuum every day!

Where should I go next as a vacation?

Last month I went to Wisconsin on a four day vacation for a family reunion. The month before, in February, Mr. F and I went to Boise to visit our college friends for three days. This month we're thinking it's time to visit the Olympic Peninsula again! We had a wonderful in Forks last February and in Port Townsend last July and August.  Do you have a favorite three day weekend vacation spot?

Cute things to check out on the internet!

I'm currently multitasking, blogging and watching Samurai Champloo. These are the cute things I've been looking at on the web.The Ballerinas in the Countryside photo shoot featured on Frenchie and Flea! This cute kitty reminds me of my little Lilly!  I saw it on jaeve + things! Ballerinas and kitties make me think of this Brittney Lee print!  This kitty print is super fun too.  It's called Multitasking

We're also eating a marzipan dessert from our Easter baskets. Mmmmm, these mimosa cupcakes look good too. Check out the recipe on Liz in Life!

Thoughtless Thursday-iPads

My husband just got an iPad! It's so amazing, like a large iPhone or iTouch, but it also reminds me of a flatter, hardcover book. Last night, we had fun streaming videos from Netflix, reading the newspaper and Marvel comics, and downloading free books, like Winnie the Pooh and Treasure Island. I love slideshows of pictures on this screen, especially from Flickr and Kodak Gallery! Flickr and Netflix even have optimized sites specific to the iPad. We just need to find the ideal stand for the iPad now. Mr. F and I agree that a stand that can hold it in a portrait and landscape position would be best. It's mind boggling how fast technology moves, iPhones only came out a few years ago, and here comes the iPad blowing touch screens out of the water! It's so intuitive that even my Dad could enjoy using this computer!

Katie at Life in the Fulmer Lane reminded me it's Thoughtless Thursday: Photobucket

Thus, enjoy more awesome iPad pictures that I love from the Apple website!
Doesn't it look like the regular paper newspaper?!

This is what your bookshelf could look like! The Kindle app is also available on the iPad!
I highly suggest looking at the Apple.com website or going to your local Apple, or computer store to check one out. They are simply revolutionary!

via A Cup of Jo  (Chocolate bunnies from Vosges, via the Scoop)
What are your favorite Easter traditions? Do you enjoy egg hunting or perhaps just the chocolate bunnies?
My husband and I are exchanging Easter baskets this year.  We went to the Blackbird Candy Shoppe in Ballard and found chocolate covered gummy bears, Bissinger's pink grapefruit gummy pandas Nirvana marzipan fruit, and Fran's grey sea salt caramels

How cute are these ears? I bet they taste wonderful! I love chocolate and especially with toffee! Vosges has many cute bunnies in many different flavors! Check them out!

Wishful Wednesday....Easter

'I wish' .... I could re-live one Easter memory from my childhood, and it would be the first Easter egg hunt on horseback at our family farm!
Mom had the wonderful idea when we were young to set up an Easter egg hunt on horseback. The horses hunted for potatoes wedged in trees, while us kids looked for plastic eggs on branches.
Don't forget to check out my giveaway! It closes tomorrow night!!
