When raining, try this...

It's a blustery, rainy day in Chicago. There are winds gusting up to 40 mph! I love that I got to wear my rain boots today.

I did want to try this move below, but I might have blown away!

I'd love to try this with the cats, sometime.

How sweet is this illustration?!

Halloween and winter is coming!

I'm still gathering items for my Halloween costume, Bellatrix Lestrange and Mr. F's Lucius Malfoy,

but I was amazed to hear Christmas music playing today!

Have you thought much past Halloween yet? It's hard to believe winter is coming! (Yes, I'm also reading Game of Thrones.)

Chicago Botanic Garden

At the Botanic Garden, we saw  phenomenal flowers,
huge swans, the English Walled Garden, the Japanese gardens, the amazing bridges of Evening Island, and the Enabling Garden! We had so much fun with my cousin! The weather was sublime, sunny, 60s with a side of wonderful wind.
We also saw funny shaped pumpkins and gourds, many monarch butterflies,  and beautiful fall colors.I love fall in Chicago!

Dreamy dresses (jewel tones)

We're relaxing on Saturday night after a long run and big burger lunch at Bad Apple. We're watching Horrible Bosses while waiting for pizza from Giordano's. I'm addicted to Pinterest and wanted to share one of my current obsessions.

I love looking at long, flowing, beautiful dresses, especially in jewel tones!

Watch Nicki Minaj's Super Bass sung by little Sophia Grace

Have you seen this YouTube sensation?
I know I'm behind the curve, but these little girls are so adorable singing "Super Bass" by Nicki Minaj! I didn't even know the song very well, but little Sophia is so talented that I'm hooked!

Yesterday, these girls met their idol on Ellen!

I love it when Sophia first sees Nicki Minaj! The excitement is palpable!

It's been a pinning week!

My sister and sister-in-law are both waiting for their respective boyfriends to "put a ring on it". Our families are already discussing venues, dresses, etc, but both keep reminding us that something is still missing.....the ring. So as I hold back my anticipation, I've been making Pinterest boards for both of them.

My sister's board has a rustic, farm theme,

although I've started to add more nautical touches, in case she decides to get married on a boat!

There's a travel inspired wedding board for my sister in law,

because her significant other is from Denmark and they met in Berlin. It may even be an international wedding!

Last weekend of vacation (Seattle Part 5)

Last Saturday, the first weekend in October, we toured wineries in Walla Walla with our besties. Our first stop was Gramercy Cellars. We loved all of their wines, especially the John Lewis Reserve Syrah. It was so amazing that we became wine club members.
We also drove towards the airport again and went to Cavu cellars. I loved the rolling Blue Mountains in the distance so I had to get a few pictures with that view!A little way down the street, decorated for Halloween was Ash Hollow. Ash Hollow has a wine called, "Headless Red" and a horse and rider to promote it too!We were lucky enough to meet the gorgeous horse that is featured on their labels and promotions! "The black horse rearing on the Headless Red label was imported in 2007 from Holland by Jennifer Gregory, Ash Hollow's general manager. The beautiful dark Grimm is a 10-year old trick-trained Friesian gelding. Grimm stands 16 ½ hands high and weighs about 1500 lbs. The gelding was taught to rear on command as shown on the label of Headless Red. Jennifer and Grimm are recognized figures as they frequently ride in local parades and exhibitions in the Walla Walla valley."
Saturday night, we met up with our old classmates in our old dorms, in our old sorority/fraternity houses, and at one of the local hotels downtown.
It was great to see all the girls! Everyone looked great, in fact, most people looked better than when we were all in college! We had dinner with friends at the Mill Creek Brew Pub, one of our old favorite haunts.
Sunday morning, J and I went shopping at Studio Opal and picked up cute Toms! I got the University Navy Rope Soles and J got the black Glitter Toms. They are awesome and so comfortable. Mr. F thinks they look like ninja shoes too!
