Happy Halloween Jokes from Twitter

I've been under the weather today and didn't get much done. Fortunately, I saw these hilariously BAD jokes on Twitter to make me smile.

Why was the hipster so tired after he ran into Dracula at the concert? He was Vampire Weakened.

Why don't angry witches ride brooms? They are afraid of flying off the handle.

Why didn't the skull go to the prom? He had no body to dance with.

What kind of streets do zombies like the best? Dead ends

What would a monster's psychiatrist be called? Shrinkenstein

What is a vampire's favorite holiday? Fangsgiving

Happy Halloween!

(P.S. We were Boba Fett and a Storm trooper for a Halloween party last night. It was epic!)

Are you thinking of Christmas cards yet?

Halloween is here and November starts on Monday. I'm in the mood to order Christmas cards. By the way, Shutterfly has a great deal for bloggers. If you post about your favorite card designs, you can get a coupon for 50 free holiday cards! (Just go to http://blog.shutterfly.com/5358/holiday2010-blog-submission-form/) I'm psyched. I've used Shutterfly to make photo calendars, albums, and stationary. My favorite project with Shutterfly was making my wedding album!!

I love Christmas cards that feature lots of photos, so we can include our kitties and pictures throughout the year. The Picture Tree Christmas 4 x6 photo card could do the trick!
The Top Ten Moments card would be a great way to update our friends and family about our year...
I adore the Christmas tree design on Shimmering Snowflake Tree card! All the stars make me smile, perhaps this is the winner!
Last year, we choose the Seasonal Chic Holiday 5x7 folded card.
But we also considered these two card designs!  We also had a few of these cuties.

I'm also considering getting holiday address labels, like the Gorgeous Gift Tag!
There's also the year-round Colorful Keys option!
How cute is the Clever Rudolph Gift Tag?
Although the Wine Cheers tag seems better suited for Mr. F and me!
When do you start getting ready for the winter holidays? Do you wait until after Halloween, until after Thanksgiving, or until the last minute?

Cheers,

Green-eyed monster Halloween cupcakes and work costumes

Here's a sample of my costume as Boba Fett! I'm the one of the left. There was someone else at work, who had an Italian interpretation of the character. He went as Boba Fettucini!

Hope you have a wonderful Halloween weekend!

STAR WARS costume (& giveaway on bun&borough)

Are you dressing up for Halloween? Have you been contemplating what to wear this weekend? Here's what I'm considering: [source] vs  [source]

I'm watching STAR WARS and having a glass of the lovely Pirouette wine,  in anticipation for my Boba Fett costume tomorrow!!  Boba Fett first really appeared in my second favorite Star Wars movie, the Empire Strikes Back. You do see him super briefly in STAR WARS when you first see Jabba and the Millennium Falcon.  [source]
I found this awesome hoodie on Ecko's website! I'm going to wear my grey hiking pants, silver 3 inch heels, and hopefully I'll find something yellow to look like knee pads

By the way, if you're interested in a new look, check out bun&borough's giveaway You could possibly win an entire outfit from Land's End Canvas, and THREE runner-ups can win a Trip Tote!! I really want to win this outfit.  Or this awesome work shirt![source]

Don't underestimate the force!
(Yes, my husband is snickering and calling me a nerdy bird.)

Make a Mammogram Promise for you, or a loved one! http://mam4.me/EmFe

Getting a mammogram is one of the most important things a woman can do to protect her health. Unfortunately, more and more women are not getting the message. The percentage of women over 40 who reported having a mammogram has fallen over 15 percent in Washington State over the last year. That’s why Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is launching the Make a Mammogram Promise campaign.

This is why I'm spreading the word about mammograms. What's more, if you make a Mammogram Promise at mammogrampromise.org, you'll get the chance to win to $25 gift certificate good at any AMC movie theatre. All you have to do is click on the link below and make your Mammogram Promise at mammogrampromise.org.

Lots of women, including Senator Patty Murray and Governor Christine Gregoire, have promised to get their mammograms, and so should you.

And best of all (at least for me!), your Mammogram Promise could help me win one of four Spread the Word Grand Prizes or six Runner-Up Prizes. That's something you could win too!

Go to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance’s web site to learn more about mammography, digital mammography, and the providers who specialize in caring for women with breast problems.

Countdown to May 2011 for Jen Lancaster's newest book!

OMG, Jen Lancaster just unveiled her new book cover! It's her first novel too. I can't wait. I adore her witty humor and wry, sarcastic writing. Yay!

If you enjoyed Bitter is the New Black and her other amazing memoirs, check out her website: http://www.jennsylvania.com/jennsylvania/!

Have a happy Monday!

Shoesday

I'm shopping for cute and comfortable work shoes and these sparkly beauties caught my magpie eye....The Karma by Kate Spade

Although, perhaps these Born Charolette's are more work (and on your feet for 8-10 hours) appropriate.
They are dainty and sweet in light green.  I like the idea of Cole Haan Air Talia pumps, but they're pricy for the Nike Air technology.  The Cole Haan Air Bria's are on sale, but not in my size on Zappos. :(BUT I did find some excellent deals on Sierra Trading Post, thanks to my husband's suggestion! I'm buying the Cole Haan Air Bailey Ballet Flats  and ECCO Coventry Pumps!

With several discounts the two pairs are only $135!! I highly recommend the Sierra Trading Post deals!

It really must be shoesday, because Mr. F and I also went to Road Runners and bought new running shoes. I got the cush-y Brooks Adrenaline GTS 11's to replace my super lightweight Mizuno Wave Inspire 6's. I wore through these babies training in them since June and then taking them all over Prague.
What shoes are you wearing currently?

The Sound of Music

Did you grow up watching the Sound of Music? Was "Do-Re-Mi" one of the first songs you learned how to play on the piano? Did you sing "So Long, Farewell" when you went to bed at night? Is my blog named after my favorite childhood movie?

If you answered yes to any, or all, of those questions, you might be excited to know that it's the 45th anniversary of the movie, SOUND OF MUSIC!
How do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand?

My best friend from college invited me to a Sing-Along Sound of Music viewing next week for the movie's 45th anniversary celebration! I'm listening to the movie soundtrack in anticipation.

What's your favorite Sound of Music song?

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things!

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things!

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eye lashes
Silver white winters that melt into spring
These are a few of my favorite things!

When the dog bites, when the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember
my favorite things
and then I don't feel so bad!
The Lonely Goatherd is also one of my top favorites.
One little girl in a pale pink coat heard
Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo

She yodeled back to the lonely goatherd
Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo

When's the last time you saw the Sound of Music?
